Modal Analysis of Mechanical/Aerospace Structures

Modal Analysis helps us understand the noisy and unexpected vibratory behavior of equipments/components. Through proper modeling of stiffness, mass, damping and mass distribution we determine a structure's natural frequencies (Resonant Frequencies) and Mode shapes.

A structure exhibiting constructive resonance around its resonant frequencies can pose danger to the product life and the people in the vicinity. Suggestions based on Modal/Vibration analysis like changing structure's stiffness, mass and damping are made to minimize the amplitude of vibration and/or shift the resonant frequencies beyond the naturally experienced frequencies.
